As an artist, I have worked with Pictex to create fine art prints from original art of very different styles and media.  Two of my original pieces were cheery, colorful cut-paper collage illustrations from a children's book, and one was a portrait painted in acrylic on wood panel, a memorial of a man killed in the Holocaust.  Paul and Rich Lam are so knowledgeable, and their process and plant so precise and pristine, that all of the results have been of equally high quality in resolution and color - such nearly identical reproductions that I felt compelled to touch the surface of the prints of the collages to make sure they themselves weren't made from cut paper.  Not only are Paul and Rich excellent craftsmen, but they are incredibly nice, respectful, and easy to work with.  I enjoy working with them tremendously, and trust their eyes so much that I've also used them as informal color consultants on another children's picture book project;  they have spent a significant amount of time with me going over proofs and never telling me to go away.  I only wish I had more frequent opportunity to work with them.
